Organised by St Margaret’s Church, the festival started in 2009, initially to raise funds towards the building of the Parish Centre. Since then the money has helped St Margaret’s carry out major maintenance and repair work to the church building. Money from the 2015 festival was also shared with local charities.
The festival was run entirely by volunteers from St Margaret’s and the wider community, and Horsforth Town Council and local businesses, organisations and individuals have supported the festival through sponsorship. Our thanks go to everyone who has helped in any way.
However the festival can no longer continue in its current form. The venue, St Margaret’s Hall, was sold towards the end of 2015, and whilst the hall is retained for community use, it is no longer possible to have sole use of the hall for five days.
The festival may return at a different venue. This website will be kept up to date, but for 2016 Horsforth Beer and Cider Festival is taking a break.
